How do I start over paying back my student loans and repair my credit?

I took out 2 loans 4 years ago to put my self through school. I was paying for a short while until I was unable to pay then any more. I put then in forbearancee and it did not go through as Salle mae states each time” we do not have record of you sending this in ” or ” you never called”.. They started garnishing my wadges 2 years ago and after I moved out of state 6 months ago they of course stopped because I was no longer working there. and they have not started back They have messed up time and time again but i need to fix this before it goes any further. Dose anyone have any tips on how to repair this MESS
